Welcome to DC!!

Hey dolls, I have not been one ounce of BORED since I arrived to the DMV area. Let me just say I LOVE it here! Everyday I feel like a kid in a candy store.  I have been super busy with work and entertaining guests and exploring all of the DMV's greatness for the past three weekends. I love love love having friends in town but I am pooped from all the partying and ripping and running around. This week I will spend it relaxing and FINALLY unpacking my bedroom. I saved that tasked for very last because I want it to be organized and perfect. So hopefully after trips to Pier 1, Crate & Barrel and Ikea this week I'm hoping the bedroom will be done by this weekend! I have a ton of videos I'm dying to film, including some serious Hauls! When my boopski's were in town last weekend I discovered a shopping wonderland called M St. in Georgetown and did some serious damage! I can't wait to share my new additions with you dolls.  Until then enjoy some random pics from the last few weeks.

Humility

This outfit is what I wore to church yesterday. Still on the hunt for a church home but I truly enjoyed yesterdays message on Humility so much that I purchased it to watch again later. In many ways I was looking at the meaning of humility all wrong. Although I am very confident and fairly successful in my own rite, I never forget where it all comes from and that is thru the Glory and Grace of He up above! Just a quick takeaway from yesterdays message I feel is summed up perfectly HERE.

You can defuse arguments when you are humble.

A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger (Proverbs 15:1).
You do not need to stand up for yourself in an angry manner. And you do not have to win every argument.

You can handle unfair treatment peacefully when you are humble.

You can respond to unfair treatment without being overcome by bitterness. Godly humility means you do not feel a need for vengeance or revenge.
Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you (Ephesians 4:31-32).

You do not have to put on a "false front" when you are humble.

When you understand God and humility, you don't need to act like a big shot. The better you know God, the less you have to prove.

You can eat "humble pie" without being crushed when you are humble.

When you are humble, you can respond to and learn from criticism without defensiveness—whether it is deserved or not deserved. Likewise, you can be aware of your failures without being emotionally devastated.

You can ask forgiveness when you are humble.

Even if you think you are only one percent wrong, you can easily apologize for what you did wrong.
Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift (Matthew 5:23-24).

You can talk with the right attitude when you are humble.

You can talk courteously and lovingly, regardless of the situation—even if you need to be firm or take strong actions.
Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen (Ephesians 4:29).

Have a lovely and blessed week dolls!

Serendipity....

Hey dolls, just a quick post of some shots I took before I left Shreveport. Still lovin these cobalt blue pants to death! I decided to pair them with my black and white striped tee and canary yellow cropped blazer. Such a great outfit to grab brunch with friends and run a few errands. Still experimenting with adding these fur accent pieces to my outfits and I am officially in LOVE with them.
I have spent the last few days with friends who came to visit from NYC and we have been exploring DC's great eateries (Serendipity 3 was a FAV!!), hang out spots, super cute neighborhoods and amazing SHOPPING! I will be posting pics soon but until then ENJOY these!

LOVE is.....

Hey dolls not really a fan of Valentines Day but I am a fan of this scripture so I thought I'd share.....

1 Corinthians 13:4-8
"Love is patient, Love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. "

On the Move

Hello Luvs! So I have FINALLY arrived in the DMV area and I couldn't be more excited! I absolutely LOVE it here. I joked with a friend that I feel like I've just been released from prison and am re-entering the REAL world. That is the best way to describe this move.....FREEDOM. Shreveport to me felt like prison at times but thats a whole different post. Anyway, when family and friends got word I was moving back to the East coast they did not hesitate to show their support and excitement. One of my best chicas even offered to fly to Shreveport to help get me the hell outta their faster and smoother. She rode with me and The Dutchess for the 20 hour drive, helped me unpack get settled and explore my new neighborhood. I can't even express how grateful I am to be blessed with such great people in my life. Thank you Les, you freakin ROCK and I LOVE ya!!
We were working Hard......Dutchess was Playing Hard!!
My first official DMV cold weather outfit of the day!! Just something I threw on to grab a quick bite and do a lil home decor shopping. I have worn a very similar version of this FIT HERE so consider this the cold weather remix! ;-) I wore these AA leggings because they were the only bottoms that fit, were clean and werent at the bottom of a box! In hind sight they were a bad idea because that wind was whippin....brrrr! I also got a chance to rock my new chunky scarf from the GAP and furry gloves I scored on sale at LOFT!

Couldn't find my black invisible socks so white ankle socks it is! Lol, oh wellz, my feet were cold!

The FIT:
Leather Jacket: BCBG
Chambray shirt: Target
Scarf: GAP
Leggings: American Apparel
Gloves: Ann Taylor LOFT
