NYFW Show Review: LaQuan Smith SS 15

Today I'm coming to you with a review of the LaQuan Smith presentation, which was surely a highlight of my NYFW trip. LaQuan's presentation was simply fantastic. Sleek modern silhouettes with a futuristic, sexy and simplistic vibe. Models were donned in mostly black and white with pops of color for good measure. For me, what truly did it was the fabrics and silhouettes that blew me away. The laser cut leather pieces were pure poetry with the long sleeved trench dress being my favorite. The 2 piece set and low cut bomber jacket ran a close second. I've been following LaQuan for sometime now and his use of leather and unconventional fabrics come as no surprise. Hello, anyone remember Rihanna in that gold jumpsuit in her 'Rude Boy' video?! However, LaQuan didn't stop wowing us there, he added pieces with a gorgeous galactic glow and see through cutouts. All very hot, very sexy with a bit of edge.

The beauty guru in me also couldn't help but notice the hair and makeup. For makeup he chose a fresh and simple soft smokey eye, defined brows and a nude lip. For hair, a soft curl with a slight wave was the perfect compliment. This combo was the perfect choice leaving the focal point on the beautifully crafted clothes.
