Makeup: Green Smokey Eye feat. Milani Foiled Eyeshadows

Hey dolls, coming to you today with a makeup review! I have been wanting to do more makeup reviews for you dolls so today will be a mini review/tutorial. I buy makeup constantly so why not share my thoughts with you guys here.
PURCHASE HERE:

Recently I picked up the Milani foiled eye shadow palettes. I picked up all 4 because well, I have a problem and NEEDED them all. I also picked up the Milani matte lipsticks. Matte lipsticks are all the rage in the beauty world and just about every line high end and low are coming out with their own matte options.

Foiled Eyeshadows: These palettes feature four colors ranging from a lighter highlight color to a darker color good for smoking out a look. The formula of these eye shadows are really creamy, soft and slightly oily. They are made to give you that glossy look for your eyes. They run about $10 each at your local CVS. I will say I fell in love initially with the packaging and colors of the shadows (I mean who doesn't love glitter) however I was a pretty disappointed in the formula. They are a bit hard to work with and can be patchy. I recommend using your fingers to apply because frankly, the applicator SUCKS and my synthetic brushes just kind of moved the product around and applied them gritty.

Matte Lipsticks: Now these lipsticks are the beez knees!! I love them! Not only are they very pigmented, they are also creamy yet matte...but not drying. If you are a fan of matte (no shine) lipsticks, for example Ruby Woo from Mac, you know they can be very drying to your lips and darn near impossible to touch up without removing and reapplying the color. These lippies do not do that. They’re matte yet moisturizing and easy to remove and reapply. They run about 5.49 at my local drugstores and CVS always has them on sale for buy one get one 50% off. At least once a month I find them on sale. They have about 10 shades ranging from Nude to bold Red. I definitely recommend trying a few if you can get your hands on them loves.

So that’s all for this post. Please let me know if you enjoy these mini reviews and be sure to check out my YouTube channel for a full tutorial on how to recreate this gorgeous green smokey eye and go ahead and SUBSCRIBE to my channel dolls, I would certainly appreciate it!

I love this hair. I'll say it again, I love my red hair. If you remember I debuted this look in this post HERE and rocked her for a bit before retiring her to the back of my closet. I'm pretty conservative when it comes to my look and bold changes. Since following my blog you dolls have pretty much seen me rock one look. Long, black/brown extensions. I can count on one hand how many times I've rocked my natural hair and have dabbled in the ombre look from time to time. But never anything as bold as Red. I'm glad I did it and I must say it is now a fav.

Today I'm rocking an all black look  with an edgy biker vibe. This bauble bar necklace is so gorge and love how this look puts in on display. It was actually warm enough to put the heavy winter coat away and rock only a leather jacket, paired with a turtleneck of course. Black skirt, black tights, black beanie and leopard bag complete this look. Simple, edgy and chic and the best part is you probably have all these pieces in your wardrobe now.

What are some ways you dolls are changing up your look this Spring?

Snowmegeddon: What I Wore

Happy Friday loves, how your week went well! Here on the east coast we are receovery from hopefully our last snow storm of the year. Actually not hopefully, I actually like the snow! I don't have to shovel it or drive in it so I'm good. Today it was so darn pretty I just had to go out and snap a few pics. Any excuse to play in this winter wonderland. I'm so blessed to live in a place with this kind of scenery.

For this look I pulled out my oversized parka stolen inherited from my mom's closet years ago paired with a flannel shirt, turtleneck for warmth and my new duck boots. Surprisingly, this is my first time wearing them after lusting and searching online for days. You would think I would wear these bad boys everyday from my sense of urgency to add them to my wardrobe. Nonetheless, I love them.

Snowflakes on my eyelashes.

Just a little  snowflake photobombing......LOVE these shots. Thank you Keish for braving the cold and snow and being my photographer!!

Spring Cocktail Recipe: Strawberry Lemon Drop

Thank the heavens that Spring is right around the corner! Spring means people are coming out of hibernation mode and getting out and about. I have grown a bit obsessed with entertaining as of late and experimenting with different cocktail recipes is one of my favorite things....well that and drinking. I love any excuse for a good cocktail!

One of my favs is the classic lemon drop. I wanted to infuse it with a fruit and added a bit of strawberry puree to the classic recipe and it turned out amazing! The perfect mixture of sweet and sour, great for any girls night in. So let's get right into it so you can start making this yummy creation ASAP!

Strawberry Lemon Drop Recipe
Ingredients:
  • 2 parts Vodka
  • 1 part triple sec
  • 1 part lemon juice (I used freshly squeezed)
  • 1/2 part simple syrup (I used homemade ginger simple syrup)
  • 1/2 part strawberry puree (3-4 strawberries, sugar, water and BLEND!)
  • lemon drop candies for fun! (optional)
Directions:
  • Sugar rim of glass (I went sugar crazy....I LOVE sugar!)
  • Shake with ice then serve
  • Garnish with a strawberry
  • Add slice of lemon or lemon drop candy if feeling festive
