Red Sprinkle Fashion Camp + Personal Style

Hello my loves! My computer has been on the fritz actually it was just full and needed to clear some space. Kind of annoying so I haven't been able to upload and edit pics. Last week was one of the best weeks ever. On Thursday I had the honor of being the guest speaker on the first day of a summer fashion camp here in DC sponsored by the FAB Red Sprinkle team. I was able to speak to the group of ladies and one gentleman about personal style and fashion blogging. The kids were from 13-17 with interests in fashion ranging from styling, hair, makeup and public relations. The camp will introduce these students to something new each week. I couldn't have been more blessed to be the students first speaker. I had soooo much fun. After my speech the kids had a challenge to create and style a look from a pile of old clothes. Something like Project Runway and I was their Tim Gunn! How cool is that, like I said I had soooo much fun. Thank you again to the kids for allowing me to share my knowledge with them and the Red Sprinkle team for inviting me. Check out some pics including what I wore. I wanted something that defined my personal style which is classic, trendy and bright! Have a great weekend lovelies!

The Perfect Marriage

Hello dolls, todays post is the perfect marriage of two of my favorite basics. Denim and leopard! If you follow me on Instagram you know I snagged my first pair of leopard shoes to add to the family. Since rebuilding my wardrobe I totally neglected to put leopard at the top of my Must-Have list. That and I haven't come across a pair that I LOVE until now. I love these shoes and the fact I only spent 29.99 for them at Target is a major score. It has been super hot here in the DMV and I didn't feel very creative with this fit so I kept it simple and basic with a pair of tan short, white tank and denim button up. Threw on my leopard wedges and went about my business. No fuss and still cute. Have a great week lovelies and don't forget to be AMAZING!!

Summer Series: Swimsuits

Hey dolls I know I've been a bit of a slacker but the Summer Series continues today with Swimsuits! Summer is officially here and with temperatures reaching the mid 90's today in the DMV I will be finding my way to the pool ASAP! Finding the right swimsuit can be the most daunting task for anyone so I hope my picks help you find the right swimsuit for you. I picked a few trendy pieces as well as some very flattering pieces that will work on most body types. Also enjoy a few pics I took while chillin poolside in ATL recently.
Summer Series: Swimsuits

1. Tribal Print is everywhere this year, including the beach. This super cute bandeau/halter  bikini is so stylish and right on trend. Add it to your collection HERE!
2. This floral print bikini with ruffles is sooooo girlie and cutesy. I am in love and 100% NajaDiamond approved! Don't worry dolls, I found it for you HERE!
3. For you sexy, sporty, bond girl wanna be's out there I found the perfect neoprene one-piece for ya from Michael Kors....how dope is that belt thou?! He had me at HOT PINK actually.
4. Just like every wardrobe needs a little black dress in it.....every swim collection must include a little white bikini. At least in my opinion it does! lol I actually have one that hangs in my closet as motivation to go to the gym this summer. Hopefully by the end of the summer I will fit into it. *says prayer*
5. This retro gingham print one-piece is very cute and figure flattering. Rock this with some big shades and cute little bow-tied scarf and your good to go! For less than 100 bucks HERE!
6. In my opinion the nautical inspired swimsuit is so necessary and one that you can't really go wrong with. Pair this with a cute tunic and some sperry boat shoes and your ready for a day on the boat :-)
Don't forget a cute cover up, cool shades and feisty footwear dolls!

Shop Your Closet Challenge! Join Me

Hey dolls, Happy Monday! I feel a very productive week on the way. Just feeling extra energized from this weekend. Thought I'd go ahead a post the pics from Day 3 of the SBOC conference. I decided to remix my Missoni for Target pajama pants. They have been just chillin in my closet since THIS post HERE and felt they needed another spin around the block. I have been trying to shop my closet a lot more these days dolls. I realized I have been in this BUY, BUY, BUY mind frame since the fire trying to replace all that I lost. In doing that I almost lost sight of the most important factor of all....having a great wardrobe is not about quantity it's all about QUALITY. I have decided to take a break from shopping for a bit and really focus on pieces I have in my closet. As of this day forward I will not purchase any clothing items outside of essentials i.e. Essential tanks or small items deeply, deeply discounted until after labor day. I invite you dolls to join me!! We can do it and I most certainly need your dolls encouragement cause Lord knows I LOVE to shop. SMH, its sad really.

Shoes are the only exception to this self imposed HOLD on shopping. I mean you can never have too many of those, I don't care what anyone says! Enjoy shopping your closet for a while dolls you might be surprised how your current pieces will inspire you all over again! Enjoy dolls and have a fabulous week!
So great meeting Marie of The Curvy Fashionista as well and her hair was so gorge!
DC bloggers in the house.
Sai of Because I am Fabulous, took home the award for Best Personal Style and it was so well deserved I mean just look at her......FREAKIN FABULOUS she is!
Loved seeing Clair of The Fashion Bomb again, her speech was so inspiring and authentic and the shoes were mean!
This was my it's raining, I'm hungry....these stale donuts are NOT doing it for me and the bathrooms don't work in this hell hole, can we please get out of here FACE *sigh* Oooops did I say that :-0
Curse the malfunction of my blouse in these photos!!

All By Accident

Hey dolls, this outfit came about by accident. Yesterday I stood in my closet pondering what to put on for the day convinced I had nothing to wear,  like I've done so many times before. I knew I didn't want anything too much because I was rocking such a bright lip. I decided to keep it simple and basic and wah lah! I actually pulled each one of these pieces with another outfit in mind and as I veto'd each one I realized they worked well together. I am in love with this outfit, not only was it comfy and chic but it was a perfect example of building on the basics. When building your wardrobe dolls be sure to lace your closet full of great basics that will work well together. Punch it up with some great accessories that play up your personality and there you have it.
